A Blast From My Texas Past

Each year, Houston holds this amazingly fun Art Car Parade.

James and I had a favorite car we watched for each year. I think our favorite thing were the rollerblades under the back of the car. I've swiped these photos off various sources from the internet. I had my own but they were lost in the divorce.

Wreck-less Driving School, the Student Driver car:

PS - James - I think they've added some things to the car, eh? I don't remember the tree on the front of the car?

Sunny Rain and The Cloudy Full Moon

Can you see the rain?

Last day of February full moon.

James' Ride: Dual Sport Desert Daze

James went for a ride this weekend, he participated in the Dual Sport Desert Daze ride. James rode about 100 miles Friday and about 200 miles Saturday. He said he had a great time and learned some things to do differently next trip. For his next ride he hopes to have a different luggage system and a bivy sack rather than a tent + sleeping bag.

James' riding partner, Becky; on her DRZebra.

A little bit of pavement.

Becky's only "oops" during a turn around. After James took her picture, he helped her pick up her bike.

The gas-line road.

This is my favorite scenery picture.

A view of the trail.

On the boarder, looking in to Mexico.

James called this a moonbow, to welcome him home.

Scan-tastic

My hiking buddy, Mr. Bosseh-Pants, is going to school... he wants to become a "Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer". He needed a guinea pig for practice, so I volunteered. After a few hours I'd seen lots of things inside me from my neck down to my ankle.

Getting started on the carotid artery in my neck and my thyroid.

In Mr. Bosseh-Pants' words, this is what we're looking at: "a dual image of your posterior tibial veins, with compression of the vein on the right side, showing that it has no thrombosis at that location". In other words, my left leg.

Walking down the hallway of his school, I had to chuckle at these dummies. They are in the Respitory Tech room. It's nice that they are modest dummies and have clothes on.

Poetry For My German Shepherd

The stately German Shepherd
Protective, bold and smart,
Looked into my eyes one day
And quickly stole my heart.

Courageous and endearing,
A favorite of its breed,
So proud and yet so loving,
A steadfast friend indeed.

Caring disposition,
Faithful to the core
If you have a Shepherd’s love,
You cannot want for more.

Today's Rainbow And The Rainbow Watcher

She's sitting funny, silly girl.

Weekend At Mom's House (aka Horse Care Boot Camp)

I spent the weekend at my mom's house. I worked my tush off doing her horse chores. She attended the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show on Friday.

Cracker.

Cracker.

Doc. He has a toothache, and phew - his breath stinks.

I love these flowers but I don't know what they are called:

My Mom:

My mom does NOT like to have her picture taken. Smiling is not an option.

Hiking, Lake Pleasant, Morgan City Wash

Mr. Bosseh-Pants, Cierra (woof!) and I went hiking in Morgan City Wash today. I almost didn't bring my camera (*gasp!*) but I did, and I took over 100 photos. This riparian area is constantly changing and is so interesting.

Parts of the trail were muddy, squish, squish, squish we go.

I don't know what this is called... red stuff in the water.

Cierra's backside.

Cierra grazing like an Elk on the green grass.

Tree branch one eyed monster.

The trail.

Recent rain water.

Cool rocks.

Creek water.

Cierra leads the way.

She's so patient with me having her pose in silly places.

At one point I told Mr. Bosseh-Pants the trail should be named "over and under" because that's what we do while hiking. He said it should be called "box of chocolates" (My momma always said, "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." -Forrest Gump). I think we're both right.

Little flowers.

Rocks. I need to take a geology class so I know why these rocks look like this and what they are called.

More cool rocks.

Morgan City Wash scenery.

"What do you mean you can't go under this branch like I did?".

Thirsty girl gets a drink from the cold creek water.

Cierra enjoys the scenery.

Rocks in rocks. Whey do they look like that? How does this happen? Hmmm...

Javelina prints.

Flowers. Or weeds. Whatever.

Cattails.

Cierra swims in the pool.

Swim, swim, swim.

"It's slippery mom - help...".

Mr. Bosseh-Pants smiles despite being showered with a spray of water from Cierra's swim.

The waterfall at the pool.

A look down at the pool.

Cierra rests while we eat lunch.

Cattail fuzzies.

Cattail fuzzies.

Morgan City Wash scenery.

The happiest hiking dog ever.

"What's Mr. Bosseh-Pants doing?"

"If you wore no shoes like me you wouldn't get pebbles in them, *snicker*".

A beautiful sunny day. (It was 71 degrees today, wish you were here Hanna).

The trail.

"Moo" eats more grass.

What is this?

There is more water than usual from the recent rains.

My pretty girl.
