Hiking: Phoenix Sonoran Preserve, Southern Trails - Hawk's Nest, Desert Tortoise Trail, Valle Verde Trail and Dixie Mountain Loop.

Up we go.
Kane's first hike - he did GREAT!
I spy: a hot air balloon.
Me and my shadow.
My hiking buddy Frank.
Kane is very flexible.
So many good smells for Kane.
This bird sung us a lovely song.
A nice place for a snack.  Because I love my hike snacks.
Lovely views from the trail.
Frank spotted this colorful lizard.
Pretty to look at, nasty to touch.
Kane and I.
Kane did really well on his first hike, he walked politely, he watched animals and showed no signs of animal aggression, he drank water like a pro, followed the trail well.  We had one minor mishap with teddy bear cholla, but he let me pull the stickers with no fuss.
A picture of Kane and I from my hiking buddy Frank.
6 miles.  470' elevation gain.  A lovely hike.  And, a warm 75 degrees.
