| The last 1/4-mile was a struggle for me. Thanks to my friend and hiking buddy David for not leaving me in the hot sun as buzzard feed. |

| 3.5 miles (or 3.8 according to David's GPS). This was my first visit to Scottsdale's McDowell Sonoran Preserve, it's a lovely area. It was toasty warm today with a high of 106 degrees. |

| Back in the truck, phew, difficult hike! |
