Burbank California

We left the helicopter in Oregon and drove to California today.

We picked up our furry girl today, I'm so happy to have her with us.

We'll continue driving, we're on our way to Colorado for a little more flying.

We ate some high quality fast food along the way.

Magic Mountain, I want to ride the roller coasters.

Cierra! So happy to see my furry girl. After a joyful reunion, she slept at my feet.

Medford to McMinnville

We flew from Medford Oregon to McMinnville Oregon. It could have been a short uneventful flight but it was cloudy and the cloud cover was so much fun.

Early morning sunrise.

Good morning sun.

Scenery between Medford and McMinnville.

Ahead I could see very low cloud cover. Naturally I cooed "ohhh... how pretty...".

The wispy clouds and trees looked like something from a fairy tale.

Cloud cover.

Oregon trees peeking out from the clouds.

The valleys were covered with clouds.

We could see the clouds moving up and over the mountains.

Oregon clouds.

We dropped through a hole in the clouds to look underneath and came back up through the same hole. The clouds were too low to see anything.

We landed on a mountain top for a moment.

A look back at where we'd just landed, the clouds were coming up and over the mountain like giant fingers reaching up and over the trees and mountains.

The wispy clouds continued to get thicker. This was actually a bad thing for flying but I was enjoying the scenery way too much to be worried.

Oregon clouds.

I saw about a half dozen of these small round rainbows in the clouds.

Ah, now we can see McMinnville.

There are a lot of farms in McMinnville, it was very pretty country.

Arriving at the McMinnville airport. The people at the FBO were very friendly, I'd highly recommend stopping by to say "Hi!" if you have the chance.

Moon Over Medford

As we tucked the helicopter in for the night, I thought the waning moon over Medford was pretty.

The photos really don't do it justice.

We'll be leaving Medford tomorrow. Thank God. I'm sorry Medford-ites but I'm ready to leave your town.

I'm coming Cierra. I can't wait to hug my furry girl.

Flying High In The Sky, Ketchikan Alaska to Medford Oregon

Today we flew from Ketchikan to Seattle to Creswell (fuel stop) and Medford. The helicopters home base is near Medford, Oregon.

We flew near Mount St. Helens in Washington. It was interesting to see this historic volcano up close.

We may fly the helicopter to its next destination. Or we may drive to our next destination. It's truly a day to day adventure.

Our next stop in our travels is to pick up Cierra (woof!). I know she's having a wonderful vacation with her Auntie and three furry cousins in the cool mountains of California... but she's my girl and I miss her. I am anxious to pick her up and have her back with me everyday. Soon she'll be flying high in the sky, lucky girl.

I had another urgent need to visit a dentist and was fortunate to find Dr. Robert Stebbins in Medford Oregon. He and his staff were sweet and wonderful and professional. I mentioned my recent dentist visit to Dr. Andrew Wappett in Fairbanks Alaska and Dr. Stebbins was a childhood friend of Dr. Wappett -- small world!

Ketchikan, Alaska

Downtown Ketchikan.

It was very quiet in town. Why? No cruise ships were due to come in to Ketchikan. No tourists = no need to open the shop. No one wanted my money.
