Hiking: Lake Pleasant

I joined a docent-led hike at Lake Pleasant titled: "Quaggas, Cormorants, and Carp Hike".

In Nov of 2009 I joined a ranger-led hike to Indian Mesa. Docent-Frank was there and his knowledge intrigued me back then.

I was looking forward to today's hike and to hear what docent-Frank had to say.

There were two of us: Chuck and me.

Heading down in to Cottonwood wash.

When the water is at higher levels, these tree's live submerged.

Views along the hike.

Docent, Frank, talks to us about Quaggas.

A close up look, they are smaller than I imagined.

The edge of the lake.

Looking up, a beautiful day.

Wild burros.

Wild burros.

Wild burros. The males are called jacks and the females are called jennies.

Big, beautiful trees.

Our docent, Frank, picked up litter along the hike, including a large glass bottle.
