I left Deadhorse - Prudhoe Bay a day early so that I could sign out as a volunteer at the BLM office in Fairbanks. I also took the time to see a dentist about a painful molar. I randomly picked Dr. Wappett of Fairbanks, he and his staff were wonderful. After the dentist I had some time to kill in and around Fairbanks.
Riverboat Discovery, a paddle-wheel steamer on the Chena River.
Mallard butt. I tried to photograph the other end, but he just wasn't cooperating.
Cierra gives me this mischievous tilted head look. I miss her but she's enjoying a wonderful vacation with her Auntie and her three small furry cousins in the cool mountains away from the Phoenix summer heat.
Sometimes Cierra gives me this stern look too.
My favorite flower, the sunflower.
This is the leaf of a plant growing along the Chena river, it has enormous leaves.
I've only seen these in Alaska, they are called Johnny Jump Ups.
This is one of my favorite photos, sunflower and blue skies.
My favorite color, yellow.
Pretty flowers.
This is another flower I've only seen in Alaska, I don't know what they are called, I think they are beautiful.
Alaska's summer days with an abundance of sunshine makes beautiful flower beds.
Another beautiful flower.
