Let It Snow

Let is snow in my desert. I took these pictures on the way to my mom's house.

[Click on photos to see them enlarged]

This is a picture of a helicopter. Well, part of it anyway.

Doc and Ollie. Of the two mares, Ollie is the lead mare. Unfortunately for her, Doc doesn't like her. She hangs near him all.the.time, much to his frustration.

BiBi. She has bad feet and is in a lot of pain. She lays down a lot. I was trying to capture her eye with the sunshine but it didn't really work out quite right.

"What are you doing Doc?"

"Nothing..."
My mom covered some of her cactus with empty feed bags to help protect against the cold temperatures, and Doc is removing the bags for her.

Chaos lurks low in the grass.

It was cold enough over night to create teeny tiny icicles in the grass...

...and the dogs water froze.

Pas de deux, German Shepherd style.

"Wait! I smell something!"

"Mooooom, Lilly fainted..."

"... oh, never mind Mom, she's ok."

The woodpecker has drilled a couple holes in the house.

"Can we come inside now? It's cold out here!"

Lilly likes to watch the hummingbirds.

New Years Eve Weekend

My son, his girlfriend and their dog Lilly are here = happy, happy, joy, joy!

James & Gennette

Gennette made a super cool awesome handmade gift for me for Christmas: an iPod holder! It's reversible, it's yellow on one side and has paw prints on the other side, with a butterfly closure. Cierra gives it a sniff of approval.

James and Gennette, I'm so happy to see them :)

Saturday we'll be up before the birds to go on a New Years Sunrise Hike = NYSH2011.

Squishy Face

We watched the movie "Despicable Me". Of course Cierra wants to play, play, play. I amused myself while playing squishy face with Cierra while we played ball.

"How about that? It's a Mexican standoff. Only we ain't got no Mexicans."
Name that movie quote.

A big squishy hug at the end, I love my furry girl.

Hiking - Sunrise Mountain

Mr. Bosseh-Pants and I went hiking with the dogs. The Sunrise Mountain loop is about five miles. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny day. There were many hikers on the mountain but only one other dog, a young boy with his white German Shepherd.

Beautiful blue skies. It's difficult to see in the photo but the Ocotillo plant has a few tiny red blooms.

Blue skies.

The best hiking partner.

Snack time. Mr. Bosseh-Pants in the background. Cierra and Melissa sharing a rock.

Cierra and I sharing a rock during snack time. I was watching Jeeps on the mountain below us, I think they were out seeking a geocache in the area.

Nice picture of Cierra :)

I guess it's hard to get three girls to look the same direction at the same time.

Random Christmas Stuff

We had a lovely Christmas and a yummy dinner. We'll share a belated Christmas with my son, his girlfriend and their pup next weekend. We're going to do a New Years Eve Sunrise Hike, a repeat of a hike we did a few years ago.

100% Christmas: Take it easy. Relax. Eat, drink and be merry. Do not diet. Smile.
Good advise, we did all those things.

Cierra wrapped up at the foot of the bed. A doggito.

I snapped this on my way out the door to go Christmas shopping. If I failed to come home, they'd have a current photo of me to put on the milk carton.

Grid-It Organizer
This was one of the gifts I bought for PJ. Once he figured out what it is, he really liked the concept. A fellow traveler suggested this. They come in a variety of sizes, so there's probably a practical size for every situation. The tiny square thing is my new iPod.
