Hiking, Sunrise Mountain

Mr. Bosseh-Pants and I went hiking and geocaching today. We hiked about seven miles. It was sixty degrees, a beautiful day.

My least favorite cactus: cholla. My dog and I have done battle in the past with cholla. I can think of a thousand things I'd rather do that sit with my dog and a pair of pliers pulling cholla stickers. Although I thought these were pretty glowing in the afternoon sun.

Views from Sunrise Mountain.

Happy Valley Road - goes through now.

*cough* *cough* *wheeze* In the hazy distance is downtown Phoenix.

Peek-a-boo.

A rock in a rock. I don't know the technical term for this.

Looking at Westwing Mountain. My house is down there, somewhere.

At the top of Sunrise Mountain, looking South.

Pincushion Cactus.

Views from Sunrise Mountain. Or, me stalling to catch my breath while taking pictures. :o)

A look back at the trail, which was more like a trench.

Broken heart rock.

Sunrise Mountain trail markers, these are fairly new.

No explanation necessary.

Look in to the sun and smile. Ugh.

This was inside a geocache, it has my birthday on it: October 18, 2009.

Turn it over and it reads: "I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings." -Psalm 61:4 (New International Version)
