Blast From The Past

This is the book I'm reading: The Last Valley by A.B. Guthrie, Jr.

I borrowed it from the library. To check out the book, I scanned the bar code at the self-checkout computer. Is there any other way?

What's this?!
The last time I saw one of these was about 1975 when I was in First grade...

It's stamped 1976.
Was I born yet? Just kidding. That's a standard joke around my house.
